If you buy the Sony, you will be forever buying Sony’s … the memory card only works on other Sony products
If you buy the Canon, all but three camera companies use the SD / SDHC memory card
If you can find a Canon or other camera with the features you like with IS, buy it.
I would recommend Canon SD1100. It has 8 megapixel and image stabilization.
