You have mentioned that it just keep displaying "connecting". There is some option in that camera screen. Select the mass storage device. Your camera will connect after selecting that option. It's also possible that the cord you're using may not be making the connection. Do you have a memory card reader in your tower? If you don't then i'd suggest getting an external sony memory stick reader and leave it on your desk. You pop out the card and pop it into the reader. As far as troubleshooting, it's between the actual USB port and your cord. Didn't catch that connecting part but go with what the person below me said. Personal experience takes the win.
